In 2004, South Lanarkshire Council began an ambitious School Modernisation Programme to modernise or replace all primary and secondary schools in its area. In Lesmahagow, Lesmahagow High School and Woodpark and Milton Primary Schools were all replaced eith new buildings. This page shows the old and new schools.
The old Milton Primary School (affectionally known as the White School). This photograph was taken on the 2nd June 2010 after the school was closed and before it was demolished. For most of the next two years, the pupils were bussed to the old Woodpark Primary School while their new school was built.
The almost completed new school on 3rd May 2012.

The old Woodpark Primary School on the 9th March 2014, before it was demolished. The dark building in the distance is the New School.
The new Woodpark Primary School on the 9th March 2014. It was opened to the pupils and staff in June 2010. The new school was built next to the old school but the old school was retained as a temporary home, first for Milton Primary School and then Coalburn Primary School while their schools were rebuilt.
